My FCP 5 Crashed and now everything is a few frames out of sync

I cannot imagine why deleting your prefs would cause this so, umm, are you SURE the audio is actually out of sync? How have you determined this to be absolutely certain? Or does it just kinda look that way?

If the audio is actually out of synch, moving it will put it back (unlink, slip the audio track a frame at a time). If the tracks are truly out of sync, they will have different timecode start and start points. But if it hasn’t been moved, moving it will put it out of sync and you might never get it back. Could be you’ve simply changed the default audio processing of your system.

It sounds to me like you’re not monitoring your video & audio from the same source. Trashing preferences may have removed whatever offest or setting you were using before. Please refer to your FCP manual to see how to properly connect your speakers & video monitor.

i figured it out……..I needed to change my audio to Built In Audio and then my video playback to none. THanks
