Where does your counter start? If it starts at 00:00:00:00, then 3:23 (in 24P) is actually 4 full seconds.

I think you need to be the guy in the back alley with the secret handshake.
For the record, I like Conduit, but it’s not Shake. One of the most powerful features in software like Shake or Nuke is that you can plug a mask into any node to limit it’s effect to the area inside or outside of the mask. Conduit does not have this type of feature, IMO it’s a big setback.
There’s also no simple way to choke a matte in Conduit. You need to do something like blur the matte and use a Gamma node to choke it out or in.

Shake is a Rock Star in the way that someone like Eric Burdon is still a rock star. You find that he’s playing at your local dingy club, you go on a lark, and you have one of the best musical experiences of your life.
Shake still works, Shake is still used in top of the line VFX shops on “A” pictures (although it is being displaced by Nuke and the like). And if you spend a few minutes googling “Apple Shake”, you can probably find a “factory new” shrink wrapped copy of Shake for around $400.
Look up Andrew Shanks’ keying tutorials in the Shake forum here on the Cow. It’s a great start for understanding how to build a key.

BTW, if the fogging is only at the outer edge, you might just be able to blow up the frame a few percent to get rid of it.

I was particularly interested in the stereoscopic 3D.
If I understand what I’ve been reading, The 1.4 spec supports 3D in both interleave and side-by-side in both 1920×1080 and 1280×720 frame sizes at standard frame rates. I assume (note: I am not a programmer or silicon designer and do not know what I am talking about here!) that would not be a big deal with existing BM HDMI equipped cards. The spec also mentions some new frame sizes, though. The larger frame sizes would not only require faster drive arrays, they would require new high speed HDMI cabling.
And at some point, someone is going to ask me about 4k, which is also supported by the 1.4 spec. Actually I get one or two calls a year about 4k, now, but I can wiggle out of it by explaining that it’s not supported by anyone.

There are a number of ‘old film’ and ‘aged film’ type plugins. Film Damage from Delirium is pretty good for scratches. Do a search at toolfarm.com and download some demos.

You don’t actually need the computer systems. You can use AJA Ki Pro recorders, or Convergent recorders.

In FCP, no. Maybe in Conduit Live, Scope Box or Veescope. Or you could use something like a Tricaster.

AVCI 50 and DVCPro 50 are both 50 Mbps. Which is a pretty neat trick, to get a good quality HD codec to run at the same data rate as a SD codec.
