You cannot import mts files into Pro2, You need to convert them first to SD avi.
I am not sure if this is going to work but if you have both camera’s and the Pana has composite out hook it up to the VX and hook that up to the computer. If this works you can capture to dv-avi.

I call it the Filmflash transition and its not ready made in Premiere. I do not know for FCP.
You will have to make it your self.
First clip add the Fast Blur effect and the Levels effect.
10 frames from the end set keyframes for bluriness, RGB white input and RGB gamma.
5 frames from the end set RGB Gamma to 50.
Now go to the last frame and set RGB white input to 0 and bluriness to 20.
For the second clip place same effects and set keyframes in reverse.
(first frame bluriness 20, RGB white input 0 etc.)
When ready you can make a Preset out of the effects.

Just found out where Adobe hides them.
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Premiere Pro\5.5
They are stored in a file named: Effect Presets and Custom Items.prfpset
But you still need to copy them from your Home pc.

HDV records in 1920×1080 but puts it on tape as 1440×1080.
That is what you will be capturing.
Shooting in 30p is not suited for every situation.
If you want to keep things simple film in 60i which is interlaced if you want your project shown on tv on dvd. If you want BluRay you do not have a choise, its all interlaced.
Filesize is about 13 gig a hour (same as DV)
You can either export in 1920 or 1440. All players play at 1920.
If you export to 1920 the software handles the conversion. If you export to 1440 the player will handle the conversion.

I have no idea where Premiere stores Custom Presets however they can be imported and exported. You need to export from your Home pc, copy them and transfer them to the laptop. Then you import them into the effects.

Use Quicktime format.
Set the video codec to H264 or other codec
Now you can set the width and height.

Restart Windows. Set duration of the stills to you liking and reimport the stills or make a new project, see if that helps.

If the title is a still why import the image as an logo. You can superimpose instead.
