Recapture old footage in CS5 – benefits?
I have old 4:3 DV footage that I captured years ago using premiere 6.5. I need to use it in a new 16:9 project I’m making with Premiere CS5. Are there any benefits to recapture this old mini dv footage from scratch using CS5 in the new project – will I get better quality and interpretation of footage?

No recapturing will give you no benefits.

No – for the simple reason that DV is a data stream – and it whether it was captured in Premiere Pro or Premiere – it’s the same data.
