There’s no such option to uncheck on the iMAc 27 ”…are you sure you’re not talking about the option found on a MBP ??

    Hi Peter,

I can’t seem to find the Nvidia Driver for Mac on the Nvidia support page, it’s only for PC. Someone also mentioned that Mac people don’t need to install the Nvidia driver as it’s already part of the OS. Is the CUDA driver and Nvidia driver two different drivers ??? Thx

July 8, 2013 at 6:28 pm in reply to: best way to share projects between 2 editors

[Walter Soyka] “Relinking the first clip should find them all.”

This is what i thought too, as this is how i worked back in the days with FCP7 and i manage to share projects easily with producers. When i or he receive the update we simply reconnect to one clip and everything shows up. But this does not seem to work with CS6 or CC. It will find some but not all. Can this be because the Media folder has many subfolders ???

[Walter Soyka] “To avoid the relink window entirely, you should rename your external drives and reconfigure paths as necessary so they match exactly.”

I know this is probably the easiest solution but i thought there is some media management vudu in CS6 i’m not aware of

[Walter Soyka] “Relinking is greatly improved in CC.”

I tried with both CS6 and CC and don’T see any difference, can you be more specific…in what way has CC improved relinking ?

On a side note. When i open the same project in CC referencing to exactly the same media, the playback is sometimes distorted (big green blocks or ugly artifacts). The same session plays fine in CS6. I tried deleting all preview cache and still the same problem. any idea why ???

I’m using a MBP 2012, 16 MB ram, internal SSD, media is on a Peragus4 thunderbolt and AJA IO XT to a broadcast monitor. Thx

July 7, 2013 at 6:59 pm in reply to: Jpeg2000 in MXF container….is it possible with CS6

    David,

What i’m after has nothing to do with DCP. Jpeg2000 wrapped in MXF for DCP is very different from Jpeg2000 wrapped in MXF for video. Again Main Concept will NOT work, their package (like most solution out there) is made for DCP. The only solution made for video archive using Jpeg2000 and MXF i know of is from Front Porch Digital. I was hoping that in 2013, some other tools might be available, but i guess not.

    Hi Daniel,

I’m familiar with Jpeg2000 and MXF for DCP, i do DCP authoring on a regular basis using anything from open source to the Fraunhofer DCP creator suite.

What i’m looking for is a way to encode/transcode video strictly for archiving purpose. The videos need to be encode/transcode using the Jpeg2000 codec and wrap with MXF. In this case do you know what type of MXF i need, if according to your post, OP1a is not possible. Thx

Thx for the suggestion…unfortunately Total Code from main concept won’t do J2k in MXF.
