Hi Jim,
Thanks for the suggestions, this seems like exactly what i’m looking for. I have a few questions:
1- How reliable is this software if i use it with the latest iMac (i7, SSD, and external firewire 800 raid) ??
2- I’v been using the Kona IO XT with an Mac mini and simply use the AJATV as playback software. I come out SDI from the IO XT into our Barco (previously Folcrom) image Pro II scaler then into a 2K cinema projector. The quality is great but the only drawback is that i can’t playback H264. Now, if i use the Playback Pro app, do i simply output the iMac’s mini display port into the Image Pro directly ??? I guess all scaling should be done in the Barco for its pristine quality. Thx

The ”calculation” time it takes prior to actually stabilizing the shot is the same wether you want simply x-y correction or full on…and this ”calculation” time takes foreverrrrrrrr!!!!

[walter biscardi] “That being said, there is no comparison between CS6 and CC running on the iMacs. Whatever Adobe did under the hood, CC is operates much faster and smoother than CS6.”
I’m using a 27” iMac, 32 GB ram, 256 GB SSD with Pegasus R4 and AJA IO XT. It runs fine, definitely not as fast as my Z800 though. I have both CS6 and CC on my iMac and Z800 and, unlike Walter, i see no speed improvement whatsoever between CS6 and CC…of course CC offers some extra features but, again, no improvement in speed.

I should have mentioned that this is for film festival screening. I will be the one establishing the screening specs. I just want to find out the most common frame rate for US/Canada and Europe. As mentioned in my original post:
23.976p, 25p, 50p, 59,94p should do it….i’m i missing something ???

yes i have the latest PP CC and PP CS6 installed. I will follow your instruction on removing the CODEC and see if it helps.
BTW, do you know why my render & playback is greyed out on PP CS 6, i have the approved GTX 680MX 2GB video card. thx

Anyone knows why on PP CC i have access to all the ”render & playback” option (such as CUDA, Open GL or software) but on PP CS6, the option is grayed out and stuck at software only.
I have the latest CUDA version installed.

ok i got it to work with CS6 by installing the QT codec patch, but in order to do so you need Compressor, Shake or FCX installed.
XDcam EX via PP CC is still a mess though….the same XDcam EX clips played great in FCX
On a positive note, Protools HD Native works like a charm on the new iMac 27”

just using the imac no external monitor for now as i want to get this problem sorted out first.
After further testing i notice the problematic footages are all XDCAM EX. Just for fun i started a new virgin PP CC and import just one clip and playback is also jerky. The same clip imported via CS6 gives me CODEC missing ….hmmm, both of these operation worked fine on my MBP.

yes i did a fresh reinstall of 10.8.4, then install CUDA and PP CC did repair permission…same problem
