I don’t know much about data repair, but recently a hard drive crashed with a lot of footage on it, and I brought it to a data recovery shop. It may cost $200-$300 by the time it’s done, but they claim that they’ll fix the heavily corrupted footage. So that might be an option if you find a reputable place.

I would think that you’d have to copy the clip to multiple video tracks on top of each other, do a different mask of each one for each section of the flag, and choose the color for each clip.

Yes, Geoff! I have the same problem with all my Cineform avi footage-par is changed to 1. Well, that was the beginning of my problems, since Vegas started crashing constantly with avi.dll errors, to the point where as soon as I opened a project with Cineform avi footage, it would crash. I now use the raw AVCHD that comes out of my cameras.

Just this morning I got a response to a complaint I sent on Oct. 17th. They asked me to send a video clip to see if they could reproduce my problems with Cineform avi footage. And their website gives me an error for any video clips I try to upload.

Press the “Prt Scr Sys Rq” button by the scroll lock to make a screen cap. Then paste it in Paint or whatever and you can upload it here. I’d be interested in seeing your timeline.
It sounds like the jpeg picture is just not long enough on the timeline, forcing Vegas to switch to another track. Are all your pictures the same length? Vegas defaults to 5 seconds for me for pictures.

I have to agree with everyone else’s comments. If you have the money and can get a cheap upgrade, maybe you should get it now, but keep using 10. I still use 10 on many projects. I’ve gotten around many of my problems with Vegas 11, but with it’s small number of upgrades and NewBlueFX crashing constantly, the actual upgrade for me has been GPU acceleration and little else.

Complain to Sony. They won’t notice any complaints here. I had many similar problems with them which delayed me by quite a bit on a few projects. Vegas 10 or 11 won’t work with Cineform avi files at all for me, which is going to be a problem when I get my hard drive data recovered on one that crashed and have to go through some old projects in avi for clients who still need a few videos from them. Sony and Cineform say that Cineform avi should work fine, but I’ve gotten no actual help from either of them. Their help (though Cineform seems to care and was much more responsive) amounted to, “It should work.”

You can do multiple keyframes within the text event to make it match the camera’s movement. It will be a little tedious, but it’s doable.

I’d use pan and crop to do it, and just try out different speeds with keyframing to get it right. Looking up pan and crop tutorials online and try it out for a little.

Can you show a screen cap of your project? I’ve had problems somewhat similar to this, though it was when I was highlighting footage, then switching angles, and even though the cursor was at the end of the highlighted section, the cut was made at the beginning of it. You may be doing something unintentionally like that.
How are you switching angles? Are you using the keypad, or clicking directly on the preview monitor? I’ve had slips of the finger where I quickly cut to the wrong track immediately preceding or following the one I intended.
You shouldn’t have a problem putting the still pictures in empty areas as long as you’ve already created the multicamera track. If you were to try to add them on an additional track as a third track and create a veritable new multicamera project, then it wouldn’t work.
Save your project before you try such changes as a separate project so you can go back to it if things go irretrievably wrong.
