Thanks. What would the issue be with rendering all the footage to 24 fps with pull down? Isn’t that how movies are broadcast? I already have a bunch of footage I’ve shot over the last few months which may be incorporated into the show and is 24 fps.
I’ll test out your method with some SD footage I have, Mike, but what exactly would that do? Would that just crop the 4×3 footage to look like 16×9?

I’ve gotten that a few times as well. No idea what caused it, but it usually went away on its own.

Oh, so that’s what it is. I raised the track level audio because I recorded at such low levels and was hoping to use Normalize after that just to adjust the peaks.

Happens to me to. The only way to avoid them for me is to do NewBlue effects somewhere on the timeline where there are no other events. Having other events seems to increase crashes significantly.

You could copy the clip, put the copy in a video track directly above the original, and use the cookie cutter or masking tool to cut out the area you want to brighten and blur the edges. Then apply the brightness changes to the clip that you’ve cut out.

I’ve had this problem when I tried to do a smart render and didn’t realize that my media resolution/aspect ratio was different from my project properties, but it never came up with an mp4 render. First thing I would do is check the resolution and pixel aspect ratio of your media, then your project properties, and make sure they’re all the same. Would you post those, and what your render settings are?
Of course, I’m half tempted to say that Vegas is just buggy.

Sounds pretty typical of Vegas. Which version of Vegas do you have? Have you been editing footage from your hd pvr before without problems?
