  • rendering mp4 – output is incorrect, temporary horizontal split

    Hi all,

I’m running svp11 and am generating a Sony mp4 render from avchd footage.

in the final mp4, there’s a part of the footage, about 2 seconds, where the bottom of the screen, about 1/10th from the bottom, where there is a horizontal “break’ in the video. As if you had sliced the video horizontally and shifted the small bottom portion to the left a bit.

in other words, there is a temporary “disjoint”. the footage in the preview window is fine.

Anybody know what’s going on? how can I fix this?

I’ve had this problem when I tried to do a smart render and didn’t realize that my media resolution/aspect ratio was different from my project properties, but it never came up with an mp4 render. First thing I would do is check the resolution and pixel aspect ratio of your media, then your project properties, and make sure they’re all the same. Would you post those, and what your render settings are?

Of course, I’m half tempted to say that Vegas is just buggy.

    Thanks Angelo,

My footage is 1920×21080 and rendering at 1280×720 since it’s destined for the web.

    any thoughts?

    Gilles
