Hi Adam,
Thanks for that. I went with scene motion blur and it totally worked as expected, even when rendering 16x sampling. For the rendering, I was actually able to get the sequence rendered super quick and really quite inexpensive over at : http://www.renderrocket.com. I highly recommend the setup they have. Certainly the beast render farm service I have used and I will be using again.
Thanks again for the response.

Hi Steve,
I have already posted there… Still no responses yet. DVD is not an option since this will be a multi-screen setup driven by ProVideo player software on Mac mini’s.
Thx for your responses.

I have experimented with rendering at 50i then playing back from a MacBookPro using the DVI-S-Video converter.
This seems to partly solve the problem, however when using a DVI-VGA adaptor the 720×576 interlaced option is not available since obviously it’s designed for outputting to standard VGA NOT a video signal. Would there be a way to fool the LCD into excepting an interlaced signal over VGA (or am I nuts?).
Also, I say partly solve because when I play the clip it may run smooth, then it flickers almost like the fields are inverted. If I play/pause repeatedly the playback resolves to smooth, but obviously I can’t keep playing/pausing during a live events. I understand this is out of the scope of this forum, but if anyone has any ideas, please help.
Any other place I might be able to find help? This is pretty urgent as the install is in two days time!!
Basically I have to make a call if we are to change to DVI-S-Video, although if they have to reinstall everything and it still causes judder/flickering, then i’m still in a pickle.. Anyone Help!!

Hi all,
Thanks for all your responses (especially Thomas for all those links!!) I’m doing a bit more research.
Right now, I’m thinking 3 MacBooks with Triple-head-to-go’s and ProVideo player could be quite a nice, portable, compact and relatively inexpensive setup. For this setup I could segment the full video into 3 movies. May need to check on the ability of the Mac’s to playback such a big movie without hiccups.
Here’s another idea I just had. How about if there was a way to trigger multiple ipod videos? Again, this is a down and dirty approach and obviously not the highest video quality, but I’m sure with some knowledge of Cocoa, a USB dongle with multiple ipods and a bit of scripting this could be possible? Hmmm.. Any ideas?

Hi Adam,
Thx for the reply. I’ve been working in AE these last few months and forgot basic Mograph.

Hi Nolan,
Thanks for uploading, however it appears to be the same version I have, which doesn’t work on PPC G5.
If I recall there should be a .xdl file(not just .cdl) in the folder for PPC Mac verion plugins.
Anyone else have the plug??

December 6, 2006 at 6:39 am in reply to: Depth of Field blurs behind alpha chennels in TexturesYou can use Zblur from 3d attack. It works with alpha’s.
Also, there’s another one I haven’t tried myself called Blackstar enDOF that might help.
Good luck.

Hi all,
OK, i’ve got it working with the tracer..
Looks great when you apply a spring delay effector.
Thx.

Hi Mylenium,
Thanks for your response. I guessed it might be you to reply first as you seem to be the Mograph master !!
I still cannot get the desired effect. I’m not so sure what i’m trying to achieve is actually posible. I have a grid of clones perpendicular to the camera as well as a plane with the animated texture map. The video footage contains talent, jumping up into the screen. I’d like this to randomly push the cubes along the X,Z axis. Right now it will just push the cubes to the specified X or Z offset (i.e one direction). I’d like it to push them “outwards” from the talent in a more random manner.
Any more suggestions would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Andyp.s: BTW, great work on the Mograph tutorial series.
