do you think that my computer will be able to handle final cut pro 6?

What does motion bring to the table? And you say its actually incorporated in final cut 6? or just works better with 6?

how many frames are pixilated? A bunch? a bunch in a row?

if its just a few, you can take still frames form the surrounding frames, and copy and paste them in between replacing the pixilated ones, at the same quality.

Otherwise, try exporting in several formats through quicktime conversion, still image, and see what you like best.

disconnect from the internet before you open up final cut next, i imagine it will try to connect, and not be able to, and you can possibly have another chance to say no, if not, just make sure you azre not connected to the internet every new time you open up fcp, till you can start a new project, in which case a fresh install of your software should bring you back to square one.

so what do i do if i have two seperate signals in the same timeline?
ive got one movie in perticular i filmed a few years back, and the only copy i have has the live action footage in minidv, and the rest in animation off of a vhs. How would i go about setting up my timeline and exporting this movie?

Also, im not recording to a dv tape, im bypassing the tape, and going straight through my dv cam by way of rca cable form vhs or hi-8 cam into the av output of the dv cam, and out firewire cable to my computer capturing through final cut in dv ntsc 48khz mode non-controlable device.

I can add the .mov ext. but that just turns it into a quicktime movie. it was a fcp file before. im not sure what happened, cause up until a few days ago all these files were .fcp files, maybe my external got abruptly disconnected, and these files were corrupted

set up your timeline in easy setup to your clip presets, then in your new project, delete your (defaulted) segment1, and open a new segment, this new segment will have your new easy setup presets, and your clip will no longer need rendering.
