I wish i was born with the knoladge to know all there is to know about final cut,
i checked my manual, looked up strobing and freeze frames, and for some reason i cant get shift+n to work. Do i have to have my clip i want to freeze highlighted? (tried that) do i have to have my frame cut from the rest of the footage? (tried that) something is not letting me freeze these clips, do i have to turn something on or off in the project prefs?

i would love to buy imovie 08, but i cant run it on my os (os 10.4.3) and i cant update my mac to a new os, because the cd drive is busted, i cant even reinstall any programs i have on it, i cant install anything, period, im stuck with fcp4.5 no compressor, and a bum os untill i can scrounge up the cash to either a fix my cd drive, or b buy a whole new powerbook.
anyone know where i can get a superdrive for my titanium powerbook g4 for cheep?

didnt youtube just undergo a change in specs? thats why you can now upload files up to 1024 mbs instead of the silly 100mb limit before, therefore if i can give them a bigger file size why would i want to compress my video to the older spec size? does anyone know if there is any truth to this upgrade or am i just seeing things when i go to upload my videos these days?
some people suggested giving them a slightly bigger aspect ratio than they ask for because they compress it down to 320×280(?) then the viewer can expand that tiny aspect ration to full screen, which we all know pixilates the image.
if my 720×480 8.21min video didnt take half a century to export on my titanium powerbook g4 i could play with the specs all day long to tweek my youqube quality, but ive got other things on my plate that need to get done in fcp4.5 in the meantime, which is why i come to the web for soultions from people with faster computers and more experiance.

Hmm, so youre saying i should place a matte in the frame, make it 0% opacity, then place the video behind it. Export them together, then take my combo in final cuts basic 3d space, and place it on the wall in there, then animate my motion from that point on?
This is a very complex music video, and i knew what i was getting into, its for my personal making, not getting paid, so i can take as long as i want,
im going to eventually have 12 of these picture frames floating around at one time, do you suggest after everytime i finish one of them, i export the project, and re-import it to keep my number of video tracks down to realitivly just a few? because if i dont i can see my timeline becomming filled up rather quickly.
The only problem is, if i render my files together, and i see i need to go back and change something, its going to be impossible, unless i keep my previous project files in seperate sequences.
am i complicating a process that could be accomplished much simpler?

we are working in 3d space, and we have a set timeline,
5 mins,
by moving the ending keyframes closer to the begining, of course it speeds up the animation but it also ends the animation at the new earlier point in the timelineDo we need to just add more animation to the rest of the timeline to get the animation to continue all the way to the 5 min mark, or is there an easier alternative?

whats so bad about final cuts timer?
why would yo uneed to spend 1900$ on a plugin that final cut can do itself?
