When i change the duration of a clip in my timeline, all the footage to the right of it gets shoved. Everything. Even my audio gets shoved over. Is there a way to prevent this inconvenience?

If you change the DURATION of a clip, that’s what’s supposed to happen.

If you want to cut off the length of a clip, you should add a CUT at the spot where you want it to end, then put in a new clip to fill the area that you are cutting off of the old scene.

Or, are you trying to make a SPEED change?

Or here’s another option I use:

    i) Drag the clip you want to make the change on to a new/empty track.
ii) Lock all other tracks (including audio)
    iii) Make your speed change.
iv) Trim it to the required length.
    v) Unlock your tracks and move the clip down.

It takes longer to describe than do. Honestly :o)

    Cheers,
    Ben
