Im currently running final cut pro 4 on my titanium powerbook g4 (yes a 6 year old laptop) and OSX 10.4.3

I was wondering should I update to newer versions of Final Cut? Would there even make a difference? What are some of the differences between them?

Would I be able to run Final cut 6 in my current OSX? Or would i have all sorts of issues?

4 or 4.5 When they introduced 4.5 they opened up HD editing. 5 was the first time they offered multi-cam editing and 6 they integrated motion throughly, and along cam the smoothcam plug-in for FCP. IMO If you have been getting along fine without these features until now it seems unnecessary to me to update. If you decide be sure to check that your laptop can handle the new versions before you purchase one.

6 is just incredibly faster than 4.5.

do you think that my computer will be able to handle final cut pro 6?

What does motion bring to the table? And you say its actually incorporated in final cut 6? or just works better with 6?

You can access and edit templates directly from motion in Final Cut Pro.

You need to have a 1.25ghz or faster G4 and update your OS to 10.4.9 or higher
