reference is vital. Get a camera and film yourself doing the movements you want then use that to help you animate. Identify the key poses and block it out

Have you tried making a new material, put the texture in colour channel and turn off reflectance. Still get lines? Just wondering if it’s the anisotropic shader you have within your reflectance channel.

well, where to start?! You will have to rig your character/ pit crew, weight paint, then animate the controllers. Then use various constraints to have the tools and wheels move with characters. I can’t give you a step-by-step, it’s a large topic. I’ve been doing various small-scale character stuff for 15years and I’m still very average at it! The character object/ auto-rig in c4d will help a lot. But it’s down to your talent as an animator.

that’s fairly complex animation. If you’re new to character animation then it may be very difficult. If it were possible, I would suggest hiding it in some way, so have the car enter the pit lane and cut to something that infers what’s happening, like a pit clock or something.

I think what I’ve done I the past is scale the vector up loads and pre-comp it (continuously rasterize inside there) sort of a super sampling workaround. But maybe just precomping the vector might work.

are you able to share the c4d file and the texture file and ill see if I can figure it out? (no promises, sometimes I’m great, most of the time…not so much!)

Disclaimer: I don’t really know what I’m talking about but these things help, sometimes…!
if possible change from jpeg to tif or psd or similar and use 16/32bit. Also when you have the image in the materials colour channel, there is a ‘Sampling’ drop-down set to MIP, have a try with some different ones, I think SAT gives you a better sampling.

maybe, scale your vid layer down and use CC repitile?

either copy the new stuff to the consolidated folder and re-link to the project, or do a new consolidate project and delete the old one (after you checked the new one has been done right!) I don’t think there is a way to do a sort of ‘check for changes’ type thing.
