<div>Hello,</div><div> </div>I don’t have experience in character animation at all, but I need urgently to make pit stop crew animation in C4D, which they change the racing car wheels, how to do it?<div> </div><div>Exactly like this video: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/3WZPv <div> </div><div>Kind Regards </div> </div>
that’s fairly complex animation. If you’re new to character animation then it may be very difficult. If it were possible, I would suggest hiding it in some way, so have the car enter the pit lane and cut to something that infers what’s happening, like a pit clock or something.
well, where to start?! You will have to rig your character/ pit crew, weight paint, then animate the controllers. Then use various constraints to have the tools and wheels move with characters. I can’t give you a step-by-step, it’s a large topic. I’ve been doing various small-scale character stuff for 15years and I’m still very average at it! The character object/ auto-rig in c4d will help a lot. But it’s down to your talent as an animator.
Thank you so much, yeah I can use constraint tag perfectly and attach objects to hands, but my big problem is crew runs to the wheel side and sit on the ground and hands movements ( the body animation is my big problem ) but for attaching wheels and changing them I can do it without a problem.
