    Hi Jacqueline,

It’s possible using trapcodes built in functionality. No expression required.
Same principle as used in this tutorial-

    Mark,

You will find the render commands under the sequence tab.

I usually compile my image sequences using quicktime before bringing them into FCP.
In QT go to “Open image Sequence” and then “save as”

Bring your new QT into Final Cut. Create a new sequence and drag and drop your QT into
the sequence to auto-setup a sequence with your clip settings.

    Then render

  • Hi Jill,

One nice thing about CS4 encoder is that they included a 2-pass VBR
which was not available in CS3. It really makes a big difference if
you have a lot of motion going on in your scene. There are some other
products that can do it as well like sorenson squeeze, flix pro from on2.
    Something to think about.

As Im sure you have noticed there isn’t much to tweak in the CS3 encoder.

You could try rendering from AE directly to On2VP6 from the “adobe flash video”
selection of the render que. But It’s still a 1 pass encoder, and I doubt your
results will be much different. Maybe a flash forum might provide more insight
since it sounds like your results out of AE are good.

    Hi Jason,

Select the layers you wish to sequence. Go to Animation-Keyframe assistant-Sequence Layers.
Make sure the “Overlap” button is ticked. enter your overlap duration.

Here is a link to a script that will do the same thing only starting at your current composition time. #21 “SequenceLayers”

Yes you would. But if you set up your render settings for 1 comp you can drag and drop the rest
of the new comps into the render Q and they should be good to go. So it should be a pretty quick operation.

    Jurjen,

Here is a script for automatic text replacement referencing
a text file. I just used it for the first time the other day.
    Pretty slick.

June 9, 2009 at 7:47 pm in reply to: movie loop from a different point

    Hi Rooben,

Set your composition to your desired end length.

    Duplicate your video layer.
Trim the heads of your 2nd layer to your starting point.
Set the new layer at the tails of your first layer.

Enable Time remapping on your second layer.
Add the expression “loopOut()” without quotes to the time remap property.
Extend the tails of your time remapped clip to the duration of your comp-

For more information on the loopOut expression check out this tutorial-

I recently had a project where I needed to create about 200 different text comps.
The type of trivia you might see at the theater before a movie. Animate
    question in…pause…animate answer in.

I found this catfish Supergenerator by Steven Nicholson and once
I figured it out how to format my text correctly it took about
5 minutes to create all 200 seperate comps. It was a cool moment.

I did run into some problems with text lines that were longer than 60 some
charectors or so but there is a 3 line version
as well if you scroll down. That fixed it for me.
I imagine it could be modified for as many lines of text as
    you need.

I also ran into this cool looking one over at https://www.crgreen.com/aescripts/
that Im looking forward to trying out soon-

    A description from the site.

    * Dan Ebberts made a nifty script for importing a text file as text layers. This script is based on that, but it goes a bit further, giving you a few more options, like line spacing, or creating just one text layer containing all the text.
updated 3-29-2009 Now with “live leading” feature (expression-based adjustable line spacing option).

    Yarim,

AE renders Progressive by default. You enable interlaced using the field rendering in the render settings.

    Hi Julia,

Maybe you can give a bit more info about your composition.
Do you have a camera in your scene? or is this just a 2d Comp? Are
any of the layers 3D? Any effects applied?..ect

    Thanks

    Andy
