    just found two workarounds:

    1. put clip to timeline, right-click –> frame blending off (default is on)

    2. in the bin I right-click on the clip and select “interpret…”, then drop the clip to timeline and i have slomo video, then i just speed it up double or timewarp it.

Any idea how to make frame blending option OFF by default? Then I would avoid whole headache of turning it off for each and every 50p clip?

yes, whole the footage is P2 shot with HVX200E 720p50. Most of the footage is 50 fps and some interviews are 25 fps.

We both can import p2 files and edit in the timeline natively but problem is that we can not exchange the files. If I edit and export it in native format then he can not open it and if he uses decoders then he has to render. And if he export his timeline to QT file (Apple Animation), then it is not native for my psequence and must be rendered.

    thanks, Andrei

[David Roth Weiss] “If you want to go to the PC side, Digital Rapids make a very affordable encoder that does just about every format you can think of. “

David, which one device from Digital Rapids you would recommend to encode fast from DVCPROHD to any QT format with half size of frame (640×360 or similar)?

    thank you in advance,

  • same problem here…

no more original 2p files. only qt video files with 50p unique frames per second which i can see going frame per frame.

    what to do?!

  • … another thing i noticed that old FCP (601) recognizes FireStore automatically and opens the content in “Log and Transfer” as soon as utility is opened or as soon as FireStore connected to the system. FCP see FS-100 as P2 card.

New FCP do not recognize FS-100 at all even if I show him the location… unbeleivable 🙁

    Apple, please wake up!

  • [Marcus van Bavel] “you really need to get Raylight for Mac”

I do not really need it because “P2 Log Pro” on the fly creates reference files which i can load to FCP and edit the clips directly from original P2 storage location. My problem is that all the footage i have on FireStore and only %15-20 are useful and i do not want to keep the rest. I want to select only parts I need and delete the originals.

It is definitely some kind of bug in latest Apple’s Leopard OS or in FCP 603 and 604. Actually I did all the job on Tiger with FCP 601 without any problem. I was easily able to load P2 folders from any location and work with that.

anyway, thank you all guys for your valuable input and help

  • [Tom Wolsky] “You might want to check the Video folder on the folder to make sure the video files are still there.”

Video files are completely OK. They are on their place and i can see the content of the P2 with “P2LogPro” but I need it in FCP’s “L&T” because i want to select only short parts from the whole footage I made and not import whole long shot to FCP. In “P2LogPro” not possible to use In/Out markers to select the video. I know that with “P2LP” I can export clips to FCP and then select parts I need and then delete all huge originals, but it is too many moves here and there and too much time.
