Then I put resulting video to Compressor again and use preset “DVD: best quality 90 min”

    Yes, Mike.

I used Apple Compressor to first convert my DVCPRO HD 720p50 footage to DVCPRO HD 720p24 (preset in Compressor). Important to use frame controls tab in the inspector window. My settings was:

    Frame controls: On
    Resize Filter: Best
    Output fields: Progressive
    Rate Conversion: Better (Motion Compensated)
    Set duration to: 100%

Result was satisfying for me and Producer. No jumping or double frames. Just sometimes I can notice artifacts when watching frame by frame but it is not visible during normal playback.

  • Ty,

yes. you just have to setup it according the settings of your project. I think would be better if you follow the instructions in Rike’s post. He has also one link to the original article at apple’s site.

let us know if it works for you too,
    Andrei

  • Hi Ty,

yes I was able to fix the problem following the trick posted to this thread by Rike Rodegro (on Dec 17, 2009 at 5:39:42 pm) and in the next post by me you can see what exactly I did in my case to solve the problem.

    Mark,

Yes, it was the problem. In my preferences in presets section I had checked option to use default preset for new projects. I unchecked it and now I have beautiful new project setup dialog box.

    Thank you!

    Thank you, Mark, for reply!

It did not help (as I wrote in my OP). There is no option for 50 fps at all, no po-up/pull-down menu for frame rate option.

    check the video below:

  • on my side it did not work untill i updated to FCP 7… now it loads clips and folders w/o any problem. it just works.
