“I believe what you are referring to are compression artifacts from the MPEG4 codec.”

I don’t. If you read my original message and look at the picture that I’ve posted, the discoloration goes beyond a normal “artifact”. It doesn’t matter how high I set the keyframe rate, and it doesn’t matter how high I set the encoding bitrate, the titlebar and the green knob is always in a different color. As far as I’m aware, this shouldn’t happen.

Thank you for the mention of TSC. I didn’t know TechSmith had a special codec for this.

One question remains: where does the discoloration come from and how to fix it?

No, I meant moving the video in the viewer pixel-by-pixel up/down/left/right.

Are you looking for something like this app? It takes a FCPXML and write out a text file containing all the markers as a list.

Thanks, Jeremy. Again great help. I read Motion Template Tool in my mails before my flight, so I downloaded the manual and read it on the way to Stuttgart. I didn’t know MTT can do these things.

[Andreas Kiel] “You also may just download the manual of MTT.

It explains (hopefully) quite well how templates are working with FCPX.”

I knew how templates work. I figured even out that FCPX stores the themes in a separate XML file, but I still learned a ton of new things. The versioning looks awesome! Guess I’m going to make use of that feature heavily. Need to try my theories more thoroughly though.
Thanks to the man in Karlsruhe and namesake. 😉

I’ve been asking this question recently as well. It’s driving me nuts. As far as I’m concerned there are no half-pixels.
Long story short: No answer yet. So not possible.

  • [Jeremy Garchow] “Your own personal cloud. :)”

lol. Yes, sort of. It’s just a media server we have at home. It’s running OS X Server and has all the Time Machine volumes attached to it. Back to My Mac makes this really really useful.

Thanks for your help again, Jeremy. Really helped a lot.

    Thanks, AJ. Really helpful.

Michael’s Spielberg quote makes me think of a German saying for some reason: “If it doesn’t fit, make it fit.”

    Cheers,
    Andreas
