Thanks, Noah. I know that but it didn’t answer the question. I didn’t ask how to do delete render files, I asked what else can be deleted inside a .fcpbundle folder.
I’d write a script to delete the Render Files folder, than open all the projects individually, to be honest.

I don’t have a particular suggestion to you, but I can tell you what’s been working for me, and what’s not.
When I started I thought I needed a big management software for all the clients that are coming in, so that I could keep up. With the years I discovered that is not what I need. I don’t have so many clients that it’s very awkward to write an invoice or two. So I created an invoice template for Pages, which I can also use in Google Docs and Word, if I so desire. It contains a couple of tables, with address, and something that calculates the taxes. It’s not fancy, it’s just an invoice.
To keep track with clients we currently use Trello. We have several boards there. One is for our sales pipeline, one is for long-term and running projects, our website, office stuff.
Tracking the time that we have been working on sth. is not that fancy either. I personally track my time in a calendar. I use the non-fanciest, easiest, dirtiest thing that I can find. It’s a simple calendar. While I do agree that a fancy tool would keep things a little more coherent across projects, I found that it’s not that useful. When a project is over, I look at the calendar to get an estimation what I’ve been working on. For the next project I might change notation, or not. It’s not important because the client will never see it, and I will only need that information for the next invoice. After that this information is irrelevant. If there are problems I can search for it, and will find it. That is all not that complicated.

That’s not a feature of Final Cut. This is what the operating system does by itself. As far as I know the system keeps a file ID record for each file. Renaming a file doesn’t cause the system to generate a new ID for it.
To make your argument valid, the files themselves would have their content to be different. You can still check their MD5. If it’s still the same, the file is still the same. A typical diff algorithm will tell you what’s actually changed.
I personally don’t see the point to have my files being named in an ugly way. Every time I see someone putting a _ in a filename a kitten dies. We’re on modern computer systems, and we don’t need those anymore.
But that leads way too far off my original question. I just want to press a button in Final Cut, and the files to be renamed on the disk. That’s it.

Thank you. I just saw that the AppleScript example I found was for a demo application named “SimpleAssetManager”. Bummed. It’s actually not that hard to go through the XML, you only have to remember to export the XML before the renaming in Final Cut, and then again after.
I hope someone has a solution for this. 😉

Yes, only I need it on certain objects, and want to be able to turn it off and back on again, and it would be nice if it would work in Motion only. 😀 Thanks for the help.

Weird. It doesn’t for me. The first thing that I tried was applying it to a group, because otherwise Trails wouldn’t work either.

Thanks. Looks good, but is this plugin working for you? I downloaded the trial and it doesn’t affect objects on the canvas at all. Exporting the movie makes Motion not respond anymore.

Finally found the issue. Turns out using a Trails filter causes the camera to behave weirdly. Tested it with copy/paste to a new project. As soon as Trails is on, the objects show up differently. It looks like Trails causes the last Trail to show, and not the original image. This makes the objects appear as though they are not in frame.
