sorry for my strange answer. i didn’t have much time then…

why does the fx-guy need your lut? in my case the fx guy didn’t want to use the
original 3ds (too slow to work with). so we decided that i do a pre-grade and then
give him that prores444 files at 2,5k in log. that way he could work well and fast
and i didn’t lose too much information in terms of dynamic range for the final grade.

but what is your situation exactly? did you generate the 3d-lut in resolve and it didn’t
work or was there some other problem? (look into the manual, there is a chapter which
explains the 3d-lut generating, you just have to load a certain dpx file etc.)

last time my approach was like this:
    1. generated a log/rec709 lut with arri lut generator
    2. generated the r3d proxies in davinci with a “first light grade”, treated red files as log film. loaded display lut from 1

    hmmm…

i don’t see any difference between the two sample images! (the first one has a thin black border, but it doesn’t appear softer to me)

    am i alone?

    hi!

i do understand your issue. sometimes it would really makes sense to scale the color wheels offset, just to understand quicker in what direction the colors were pushed. but on the other hand it’s not big deal for me as i seldom use the 3colortab.

but as i said, when opening older projects it would be easier to recognize what i was doing then, colorwheelwise…

your project fps are at the right rate? does the tc shift also occur if you manually add the clips into the mediapool?

look at the clips with tc-problems in the conform page and look if they have a correct tape name. if those clips are eg transcoded vfx shots and you didnt give them a tape info resolve throws them on a “guessing list”. this no tape list will be looked for every time unlabelled clips are found and tcs will be compared. and if the tcs dont match you get those error warnings.
if the tape name is there and you copied eg. only the first part of a clip (happens sometimes by accident with red files) the same error pops up…

has nothing to do with windows or osx as far as i know.

hm, i do it all the time. grading in half or quarter res and render out 4k, 3k or hd full… (double gtx480 setup here).

but i do remember having this errorcode once… (8.0 i would guess!)

but does jump to the blur-window in ui automatically?

i hate the fact the wave doesn’t switch… would be so easy to implement…

    temptating stuff!

does the panel read out the values? (eg blur)
can you access the different curve settings?
