Make a clone (keyboard shortcut: k) of your clip first, then apply the filter to the clone, and fade it out as needed.

Blizzards tend to fluctuate a lot, with the intensity going up and down in random bursts, and changing directions.

To get a more realistic feel, try to animate some of the parameters (by adding parameter behavior or using keyframes), or work with several emitters on top of each other.

It will take a lot of experimenting, but it’s certainly possible to do.

Try to copy all your layers to a new motion document and see if it’s still there.

VLC (videolan.org) plays the .mts files from AVCHD just fine.

I don’t have a GH2, but I have a couple of different AVCHD-devices, and their files can all be played in VLC.

    That’s the same general principle.
You can do that with a replicator.
-Draw a small square and replicate it
-Set the replicator shape to image
-Drag your text to the image well in the replicator tab in the inspector.
    -Adjust to taste

You ca use Sequence Replicator behaviors to make the LEDs flicker, or do other stuff.

The Overlay blend mode will “Screen” everything lighter than 50% gray, and “Multiply” everything darker than 50% grey. If something is exactly 50% grey it disappears when the blend mode is Overlay.

    So:
    – make a rectangle that is 50% gray
    – match it’s perspective to the solar panels
    – turn on reflections for the rectangle
    – place your text
    – set the blend mode of the rectangle to Overlay

I did a quick hack-job, and this is what I got:

My .motn file is here for you to take apart, and see how I did:
    4195_txtreflection.zip

    Hope that helps

    Take a look at Filters>Time>Trails
Is that the kind of effect you are looking for?
