Reflections in Motion
Hello Everybody !
How can I make a text on a real video with reflections by a window.
I tried it this way: I placed the text and a rectangle on the video and I fixed the reflection settings. The problem is that the reflections are visible only in case the rectangle is visible also. But I’d like to see the window on the video instead of the rectangle.
I tried to find a good blend mode for the rectangle but unfortunately it changes also the reflections.So how can I create a text with reflections in based of an invisible rectangle?!

You can’t make the rectangle invisible but keep the reflection but here’s the way to do it.
Duplicate your video layer and on the new layer apply a mask around the window area so that only that is showing.
Now set this new layer to accept reflections and your text should reflect only in that area of your image.

Thanks but unfortunately it does not help because the reflections will appear in based of the perspective of the video and not in based of the window on the video..
..If I understand it well. Or not?!

Yes, this would be the case unfortunately.
My suggestion would be that you would probably get a much more controllable result if you did this without using the built-in reflection option. Rotate, scale and mask a clone or duplicate of your text layer until it is in the right position.

Bad news
Starting it over: I’d be glad to get any help for creating a text /or a group with text and picture/ in front of the following solar collector.

A bit tricky because I’m not sure quite what look you are going for but here are a few tips.
Make a duplicate of your foreground text/image layer or group, set the mode to Overlay (or whatever you think looks good), reduce the opacity, add a bit of blur, put it behind and set it back in Z depth enough to look realistic.
Then to try and get the reflection to move correctly (assuming that you are rotating your foreground on the Y axis) add a Link Behavior to link the Y axis of the duplicate reflection layer/group to the Y axis of the foreground layer – and set the Scale parameter of the Link behavior to minus 1 (-1) in order to get a “reflected” animation.

I should add that you can also try linking the X rotation of the reflection layer/group to the Y rotation of the master layer/group, again with a negative scale – try minus point 5 (.-5) – and a negative Y offset to get the perspective right (about -100 maybe) aussming youv’e already set an X rotation that looks good to you.
A bit of experimentation and you’ll get a pretty good result.
You should also think about masking out the non-reflective parts of the panels for a more realistic look.

The Overlay blend mode will “Screen” everything lighter than 50% gray, and “Multiply” everything darker than 50% grey. If something is exactly 50% grey it disappears when the blend mode is Overlay.
So:
– make a rectangle that is 50% gray
– match it’s perspective to the solar panels
– turn on reflections for the rectangle
– place your text
– set the blend mode of the rectangle to OverlayI did a quick hack-job, and this is what I got:
