This will be national broadcast stuff, and I think they only have HDCam. I guess editing in offline will be the solution, and then doing online after the editing. .. Oh well, I guess it will only take another 5 years before edititing HD will be piece of cake

Came across this link in this forum

    https://www.transintl.com/store/category.cfm?Category=2490

Maybe this one is ok for my HD work.. looks like it can handle 7 real time streams of 8bit uncompressed…so I guess my dream of having 5 HD streams will not work under any circumstances.

ooops.. Forgot to say that his work is mostly on concerts, and I guess he will be having maybe 10 hours of hd material in any project (5 iso cameras running all the time.. Working with multicam)

But I have been waiting for a 12″ powerbook and I end up with a macbook that’s not suitable for fcp. Oh well, my work mac has a 30″ + 23″ lcd and thats the one I do all my work on. It’s just convenient if I could do some fcp work on my macbook, if my main mac gets a total crash

oh well. I guess I will buy the macbook anyway.. Cause I don’t want you boring guys to let me down 🙂

  • Well.. I thought the speedgain was mostly in the area of editing when using long clips, not opening and saving

  • This is a problem with fcp4.5 and been fixed in 5.1

You can try to to turn off Show through edits, show duplicate frames in ALL timelines in the project. (not only the one you are working on). You are correct in guessing that the problem stems from long clips in a project. I don’t think changing the codec will change anything.

The solution to the problem is to upgrade to 5.1

Any reasons why you don’t want to upgrade to Xsan 1.3 ? I have upgraded 10 clients with no problems whatsoever.

Thats strange. I use MBE for lots of broadcast work, and it kicks ass. I have a geforce 688 Ultra DLL and everything works beautiful. Its VERY fast with this graphics card. ehh.. so you use the presets right ? Should be pretty close to the examples on the Red Giants web site.

Try to ask your question in the magic bullet forum here no Creative cow.

  • Hmm. Not quite what I am looking for. I want to move the clip one frame forward on the timeline. I don’t want to change the clips content in any way. (hmm… if you just select a clip, and move it back and forward with trim plus and trim minus when there are no clips around.. that’s the thing I am looking for)
