Same issue here. This is a MAJOR problem for us, as we master shows daily, and insert does not work.

Decklink should take care of this issue in the very near future, or we will be forced to move to AJA.

Upgrading from 5.1.2 to 5.1.3 will make your find in bin function work flaky. VERY anoying and caused lots of problems. (editing startet on old version) Everything is else is ok though.

Try audio mixdown before mastering. Might make it work a bit better. We use an old 2×2 g5 as a masteringsuite to our digibeta. Works ok. What codec are you using ? Maybe you could try speedtest on the disk (decklink has one.. guess Aja has one too)

    Lier.LIER..

just kidding. Strange, we had this problem on both dsr-11 and dsr-45 models.. and I guess we tried at least 10 different ones. Maybe there were something wrong with the tapes (these were a big batch of tapes.) Oh well. It’s good to see that they worked for some.. We had to change into using 60 minutes tapes

Works perfectly. However 2hour tapes might be a problem (those long dv tapes keeps dv decks think they have reached the end of tape since it’s so heavy to pull the wheels around)

Aja or Decklink are two good brands.

Not sure about the tv, but we have a panasonic hd lcd monitor that works great with dvcprohd. (sdi in)

4 gig ram is ok. I find that you can work with only 2 gig, but 4 is much more smooth.

    Good luck

sorry for the mixup.. filmtools.. cinematools.. same thing. Remember that Decklink does not work with 24@25.. you have to use a dv player. (just check the decklink forum to see what I am talking about). And don’t upgrade in the middle of a project. hehe.
