There’s been literally hundreds of threads on encoding for You Tube. Do a search of the forum for the most recent ones because You Tube recently changed the way it encodes.
Also on Vasst’s site there’s a ste-by-step tutorial for You Tube. You can also search the videos on YT you’ll find some good recent video tutorials.
Atually your MP4 doesn’t look all that bad. Why did you encode for WMV as well? All you needed to do was upload the MP4.

Hi Mike
Oops! Yea Track Motion was set from something I tried before. So I got rid of that but now all it did was raise the whole “box” a little.
Now the text comes in just below the middle of the screen and goes out just above the middle. Problem is I’m working in wide screen for the first time, so I’m not sure what to set the frame size at at the top of the window. I tried 720×480 and 1280×720 but it doesn’t seem to make any difference.
I’m trying to get the text to come into the window at the bottom and scroll up and off at the top.
By the same token I’m also trying to crop the right side of the video only to make more room for the text scroll but I can’t seem to figure out how to just crop the right side without the whole video re-sizing. I thought I had the aspect ratio turned off!
This is what I get for trying something entirely new. HD 16:9 on a P4 3.0gHz computer w/2gb Ram! Imported as SD wide screen MOV file. It’s working though albeit a bit slow! 😉
I need to do this in Vegas, render it out and bring it back into FCP. HA!
Geez, I haven’t used the scrolling text for years.

That didn’t work. After the text I hit the enter key an added about 20 lines. Still only scrolls up from the bottom to just below 50% up then disappears. Like the window ends there.

There’s been numerous posts about encoding for You Tube; a few recently since YouTube changed their procedures.
Search the forum. There was also a large post from DSE, recently about that and he’s got a complete tutorial on Vasst’s website. That tutorial has been really helpfull to me personally.

Hi
You’re really better off encoding for DVD Architect directly inside Vegas.There’s a template for DVDA NYSC or PAL stream. You’ll encode twice; once for the MPEG-2 stream and once for the AC3 audio. Just make sude that both files have the same name although the file extension will be MPG/AC3.
Then open DVDA and just drag the MPG file into the window and the the audio file will follow. Easy!
Unless your video is approaching 2 hours, then it might be better to let DVDA do the MPG encoding and you’d check the “fit-to-disc option in the optimizer.

Hi I do same as Danny. Only on my Mac Book Pro it’s a DVI port. I recently bought 2 Samsung 21.5″ 2233sw monitors. 1 is connected to my laptop and works great. I can set dual monitors if I want but right now I have the external mirror the laptop.

I don’t think you really need to go through a 2-step process.
Try out MPEG Streamclip

It will also convert to AVI among others. I convert to MOV files which Vegas has no problem editing.I did find out Streamclip (also open source & free) does do batch converting as well.
