I use it but not regularly and haven’t usd it for a while but it is great for what it does. I do recommend it. It’s saved me hours of keyframing on many effects over the years.Yes, it is true, and the support is fantastic!

Are you talking about the timecode or a date/time stamp? You can turn on “show active take names” in the options-preference menu and that will show the clip name and original TC on your clips in Vegas. I always have it on.
Date/Time stamp? I do legal video work. My Sony DSR-250 prints the D/T to the video and once it’s there it’s always there! YOu can’t remove it so I’m thinking you’re refering to the TC’s.

First, I heartly agree with Mike and DSE’s replies above.
Secondly, 2 other items. 1. I’ve had more problems personally with Sony DVD drives that I won’t use them anymore. I curently use an older HP LightScribe drive with no problems.
2. Your media. Have you tried using different -R Media? I highly recommend the TY high quality media. I’ve also had problems with Maxell media and don’t use them either. You always want to use the highest quality Media you can afford. Not the Best-Buy / Walmart type media.
So you have a number of things to check and try out.

Do you have another firewire piece of hardware that you can plug into that port? Like maybe a camera to capture video?
I blew a firewire port once myself but it did’t afffect Vegas, just couldn’t use the port.
You have to narrow down if it’s the port or the ADVC110. I have the AVDC100.

Yea, I knew I read about it before but I must have not searched the correct subject.
Anyway I still couldn’t figure out what you’re saying until I finally read about half of the examples. I went to the bottom of the box and resized the entire box. Nothing.
Then it dawned on me NOT go to resize the FX window but to slowly move my mouse down intil it turned into a double arrow. You’re right as usual. Somehow I closed the timeline accidently when resizing the window.
That was sneaky though as there’s no indication of a resizing line ha ha ha Totally hidden from view. 😉

Oh yea! 😉 Turn it off when you’re done with the move. More than once I forgot to turn it off and then inserted a couple of text boxes. All the others down the road shifted also and my script I keep was 3 to 10 seconds off. I had to go back and fix it all. Wasted hours because I forgot to push a button!
Lot of times I have to cut a 3 second portion of the video out, then shift the entire project over. That ripple cut does it. But then when I put in a shirt dissolve everything shifted and I didn’t want it to.
Many reasons NOT to leave it on depending on what you’re doing.

What is “Memorex’exPressit”? I hope you’re NOT putting paper labels on DVD’s! That could also be one of your problems.
So my suggestion which included those in the posts above; use only hogh quality media like TY. Use only -R, not +R’s and get printable surface media and print your labels directly on the disc.
Epson has a $99 printer that will print on CD/DVD/s directly. For black and white printing you could get a thermal printer. Mine also about $100 came from DiscMakers.
