    Hey Joseph..

Since I’m just getting over the searching cache hurdles (100% Previews enabled) I’ve not made use of smart collections yet. But I am aware of what they are.

Just for the sake of those who may be reading thru this thread….
It’s not that Bridge CC has trouble with video formats. In fact, my experience is that Bridge, installed along side Ppro, AE, and PS on my work machine, reads more video formats than it ever has, including MXF folder sets which makes me very happy.

The issue, at least as I see it, is with Bridge installed on its own without a pro video app installed….which is likely the way you’d do it as a trial. In this instance Bridge is pretty crippled in it’s video preview capability and thumbnail generation capabilities. So there must be a tie between the applications that makes this functional in Bridge. That’s fine….but Adobe needs to do a better job of explaining that to ppl…and offer trial bundles for video versus print pros so that ppl can GET IT and SEE IT.

I talked this in regard to your post on the feedback site:

Out of pure curiosity, what if it were an annual, or bi-annual as opposed to monthly?

    It’s a better deal anyway.

February 19, 2014 at 9:28 pm in reply to: Slip edit subclips…

if you drop the entire subclip into a sequence, the sequence is treating it like a whole clip and respecting the artificial limits you placed on it when you created the sub clip.

you can tell this when you load the subclip in the source viewer.

however, with the clip selected if you choose “edit subclip” from the clip menu….

you can turn off the “restrict trims to subclip boundaries”

this should allow you to do what you need.

    thanks!

    Nope….

I want to replace the project panel items with “Placeholders”

via right click > Replace Footage > Place Holder

it appears I have to do this one at a time.

I was hoping there was a multi select option.

    but nope…

  • single track editing always exposes additional handles beyond you original in and out…(otherwise your run time would be affected with every transition)

If you edit track to track (say v1 and v2 for example) creating the visual desired amount of overlap between clips you wish…then add dissolves on the upper track, on the clip at it’s heads and tails

this is going to give you what you desire. I think you will tire of it quickly….but this is how it’as achieved.

In this case then, the keyboard shortcut is the same as would be used the transition in any other instance…

How about setting up a DROPBOX or GoogleDrive that you both sync to?

    hi…

I don’t know about switching between the numbers of cameras you’re viewing…

but as to the second question…

    fundamentally, a multi-cam source is just a nested sequence…

so if you need to add another camera,,,

open the existing sequence and add it as another layer in the stack…

    ta da! 🙂

is there any kinds of a frame rate mistmatch between your source audio and the sequence setup?

I’m not saying it should behave this way…I’m just looking at ways to save ya for now…

    Don’t forget….

that you can ways create a master project and collect independent of all the separate projects.

If the idea is to gather the assets….as long as they end up in the same folder, it does tend to make for easy relinking even if you do relink from all the original disparate projects to the collected assets in that folder.

While I agree strongly with what Walter says…

in some instances it may not exactly apply…for example….our projects are combinations of library assets, which we refer to constantly and leave in place on the server….and project specific assets which we organize with the project.

when I’m working in AE…I even make folders to differentiate between the two types when I import….so that when I collect at the end….for archive….I know what assets I can blow away from the collect (library ones) and ones that drop in the archive.
