  • Collect the AE Projects separately for sure. PPro won’t do this for you. In fact, you probably want to archive the AE projects before you collect the ppro projects.

I’m not sure about relinking dynmamic link once you restore an archive set….

    Anyone??

I’d also test carefully by moving media “offline” by placing the actual files in a prallel folder or by renaming the original media folder as “offline.”

I have not done what you are inquiring about since like CS3….

I had some bad experiences back then coming from HDV (firewire not RS-422) with frame drift +/- 3 frames per clip.

DV seemed to work ok which led me to believe that it had more to do with the GOP structure of HDV than anything else.

I also was put in charge of conforming an offline around that time in a system equipped with a capture card and using 422, but I think the initial capture had a timecode setup versus the actual frame rate on the tape that cased some problems….

so….just do you diligence and check yourself on a few tests before you commit.

    Hi All…

I think John is referring to Quicktime Pro’s “Fast Start” options for Progressive download not Progressive field order.

What options are available thru Adobe Media encoder?

I have this book and like it….but how up to date is it now?

Not meant as a criticism…only that a lot of things have changed since the CS5 version that it was based on….

    particularly in the timeline editing….

    has it been updated?

  • Heya…

Photoshop layers in a master doc is a pretty good way to hand this too.

Each title on a diff layer…

then you can group select layers in PS and change fonts and and styles resave and boing updated in ppro…

this may seem a little odd….

but I’m looking at a sort of versioning workflow where

animatics coming in from AE get cut on to layers of sequences…

then those subsequences are assembled in a master

then by using mutli-cam mode…I could step the the revisisons of each segment from each animator..

sort of akin to eyeon Generation or Hiero from Foundry….

if (as I learned from Walter Soyka) the animators save their renders with XMP meta data embedded….it should allow relaunch of ae project right from clip.

    interesting….

    thanks!
