  • Archiving Premiere Project with Dynamic Links to AfterEffect

    Hello,

I am new to Premiere and have some projects I need to remove and archive. They contain Dynamic links to AfterEffects and I can’t get an answer about “Will the project archive and contain the links?” or “Do I have to collect the AfterEffects separately an relink to the project?” Dose someone have an answer.

Collect the AE Projects separately for sure. PPro won’t do this for you. In fact, you probably want to archive the AE projects before you collect the ppro projects.

I’m not sure about relinking dynmamic link once you restore an archive set….

    Anyone??

Our resolution to stuff like this is our media management setup. Every project gets a complete set of folders. . .

Then we make sure ALL assets for that project are in the appropriate folders. We add additional folders for footage connected to the project.

Then backup and restore consists of moving one folder.

Might not be the answer for everyone, but it works for us.

    Jon Doughtie,

With your file structure, are you collecting and paring down your projects or just copying everything in the projects?
