For what it’s worth I tend to agree with Terry Curren and Walter Biscardi on this and I, for one, cannot see “the puck” heading in the direction of upmarket professionals or whatever you want to call them/us.

Ben Holmes is right in that no one is as good at marketing as Apple and they will always go where the money is . . .

. . . But to be fair they do make pretty cool stuff.

Thanks Joe, yes I am.

I finally figured out that CS3 doesn’t like any of the old Matrox Media Encoder presets I made with CS2. Once I re-configured new presets in CS3 and used them instead everything worked fine.

Gday Scott,

It seems that disabling autosave is the only workaround for me at the moment. This is when I am using File/Export to Tape to a DNW-A75P SX machine.

Do you have a link for informing Adobe of these sorts of things?

Hi Scott thanks for the reply.

I am using the File/Export to Encore option, direct burn without menus. The file renders OK but as soon as it opens Encore to start the DVD burn that’s when the message “Empty Project” comes up. That’s all it says.

It does this with all projects so I don’t believe it’s a corrupt project.

I am using CS3 Production Premium with Matrox Axio SD. Dual Opteron HPXW9300 workstation.

I think you’ll find that that’s the 3.0.1 update and not the 3.1 update.

Well I don’t think that’s really a solution as it didn’t occur in CS2.

I got that with the 3.0.1 update. . .?

As for the 3.1 update anybody got any idea how I can download it from NOT my editing computer? It doesn’t seem to be anywhere on the Adobe website….?
