  • maybe you are using a set bitrate? I honestly dont know any better, but thats just an idea.

    those dvd’s probably mean they hold 2 hours in doing something like lp dvr recording (from a dvr player). Yes, I would expect that a 50 min project might take up the whole disc, as it is probably a 4.7 GB disc. You can get dual layer discs with about 2x more storage onthem…

    just type those errors in on google. you should probably get something, either from some outside source, or from the adobe website itself.

    Apparently AE 7.0 can take advantage of some graphics cards’ abilities to render out new high fidelity openGL, but I haven’t seen those results yet.

    Will you be shooting regular footage or greenscreen? One benefit the sin city guys had was that they were able to light however they wanted, because they were in studio. That being said, you would want a lot of hard edge lighting (around characters’ faces, etc.). Also, I’d shoot in day and make it look like night. It’ll just give you the good contrast that was present in sin city. A better camera would also give you better depth and range of grays when you go to bw in post, which was crucial in being able to achieve that black-and-white-but-still-great-looking. . . look.
