should the dv be captured in uncompressed, then, or still just ntsc dv?

beginner questions, but in capturing uncompressed 10-bit, does it capture just the same way dv does (through a firewire deck)? Will the 10-bit digitized footage look exactly the same as ntsc-dv digitized? What is the bitrate for 10 bit uc, and is a basic 7200 rpm internal SATA drive fast enough to play it back?

forgive me if I’m being really stupid, but how come this can’t be done with footage, say, in a filmstrip?

this is because the fcp timeline is probably set to ntsc dv, which doesn’t really handle animations well. Youc could try exporting to uncompressed 8-bit or something?

how exactly do you start in the 3D manipulation of layers/space? (How do you get into 3D view?)
