When you say “saved it on the desktop”, do you mean you used the “file – save” menu, or the “save output” function? “File – save” just saves a project file which only particleIllusion can load.
“Save Output” will create a QuickTime movie file.Watch these tutorials, they’ll be very helpful:

Ah. No, there’s no way to make them more visible, other than toggling off your bg image (using the “bg” icon in the layers window), or choosing a more appropriate background color for the stage.

Is “space dots” an emitter? If so, there are several layers of “visibility” values in the hierarchy, as well as a transparency gradient for each particle type.
Increasing any of those will make the particles more visible.

You need to use the square pixel equivalent resolution in particleIllusion, as particleIllusion only supports square pixels at this time.
Do a “search” in this forum for “square pixel equivalent” and see if you find the answer.

How exactly did you disable the preview window? It’s not possible to disable it. You can only disable the preview that’s in the emitter properties dialog.
I suggest you uninstall then reinstall.

There is a feature called “attached to emitter”. You want to set that for each particle type. Then when you move the emitter it won’t leave trails.
Check the docs for details.

Try the “run with software rendering” option. If that works, then it’s definitely a video driver problem.
Sounds to me like something unrelated to particleIllusion though.

Your serial number is not the activation code. There is a link in the activation window that you need to click to get to the activation website. Then enter your serial number and other info to generate an activation code.

I doubt the new computer will have the latest drivers. Drivers get updated fairly often.
