Wow, this is an old thread revived. =)

If the emitter is a super emitter, it may be the free emitters that are moving too fast, not the particles. What’s the exact emitter name you’re working with, and which library is it in?

The name doesn’t matter. You can have 20 emitters in the same library that have the same name.

If you added a library emitter to the stage, edited it on the stage, then used “add to library”, you’ll still have the original in that library too — unless you deleted it from the library.

That does help (although it appears to mess up the forum display). It’s crashing when it’s getting codec info for some reason.

The quick workaround would be to render an image sequence instead of a QuickTime movie and see if that works.

There is no way. The library emitters are the “default” state. If you’ve overwritten a library emitter, you’ll need to download the library again.

What is your stage size (output size)? Try a 320 x 240 project. If that works, I suspect it’s a pIllusionRender issue. If the output size is too large to fit in a visible window in particleIllusion, it will fire off pIRender to do the render.

Depends what you mean — do you mean “make it show on a checkerboard like in Photoshop”? If so, the problem is not that the image doesn’t contain transparency (it does if you check the “save alpha” option), the problem is in the way you view the image.

If you have an image that you created with “save alpha” checked and it does not contain transparency, please send it to me at support at wondertouch dot com.

We don’t have a full export function, but if you contact me at support at wondertouch dot com we do have an export tool that you can purchase.

What makes it complex, checking the “save alpha” box?

If you’re on a Mac just save QuickTime directly from pIllusion, using the Animation compressor set to the highest quality and number of colors.

What problems are you having? What error messages are you getting? Can you view the video in other applications?

    1) Add any emitter to an new project
    2) Click “Save Output” button
    3) Choose PNG or TGA output, supply filename
    4) Check “Save Alpha” option
    5) optional: uncheck “remove black bg from RGB channels”

You can also save as AVI if you use a format that supports alpha (like HuffYUV or Lagarith) and the codec is configured for an alpha channel.

If you’ve done this, what are you using to view the image or movie? It may be that your viewer or video editor is only showing the RGB channels.
