Excellent as always. Do you mind if I include these in the January library? Everybody should have them.

I especially like the first one. It’s very complex.

(The YouTube link you posted is wrong — takes you to a music and winter photo video)

Render just the particles with alpha (turn off bg in pIllusion and make sure “Save Alpha” is checked in output options). Then composite over background footage in AE.

Current versions of pIllusion create alpha channel for particles only, ignoring alpha of bg footage.

That’s what the current Mac versions of pI3 and SE do under Leopard. Email support at wondertouch dot com to get the fix.

Start with the “daisies” emitter you’re talking about, since it’s close to what you want.

    – Add it to the stage.
    – Open the emitter properties dialog.
    – Click the “particles” tab, and check “single”.
    – Now select the “active” property in the hierarchy, and add a point in the graph at frame 100 or so, then adjust that until it’s the way you want it.
    – You may need to adjust the “size over life” graph too.
    – On the “Change Shape” page of the particles page, select the leaf image (if it’s in the library) or click the “new shape” button and load your own leaf image.

    That’s basically it.

It’s telling you that it can’t find the file — just browse to the folder where particleIllusion is installed, then the “Emitter Libraries” folder, then select any library file there.

You need to add the audio back in using another application — particleIllusion doesn’t preserve the audio. (This feature was available in an older version, and we hope to add it again in a future update.)

I think the answer is to create the particleIllusion project at the square pixel equivalent size for 720×576, which is 768 x 576.

    Can somebody provide more details?

The only thing I can think of is an old project called “welding sparks” or something like that. It didn’t have any ball particles, but did shoot out sparks that bounced off the edges of the frame (had a deflector all the way around the edge).

You can find the project file at https://www.wondertouch.com/ipf/welding_ipf.zip
