Background Transparancy?
Hello,
GREAT product! I’ve successfully learned many tricks and have been able to create a lot of stuff on my own… However, I am stuck on one particular problem.
I need to output my finished product (I prefer Targa Seq.), but I need my background to be transparent when I throw my sequence into AE. How do I go about making the background transparent, yet keep my emitters and effects?
Any help is grealty appreciated!

Render just the particles with alpha (turn off bg in pIllusion and make sure “Save Alpha” is checked in output options). Then composite over background footage in AE.
Current versions of pIllusion create alpha channel for particles only, ignoring alpha of bg footage.

So I render just the particles in avi format using lagarith lossless codec with the save alpha checked and removed black bg from RGB channels both checked and unchecked and I still don’t get the output avi with alpha channel but a black background. I must be missing something obvious.
Please advise
