Same thing happened to me years ago when I bought a couple of JVC cameras. The Digi-S (can’t remember the model number) was full D1 and gave a ‘complete’ 720×576 picture (I’m Pal here).

Then I purchased a JVC DV700 (I was lead to believe it had the same chipset so would match up nicely) but this recorded with analogue blanking (it’s 704×576) to JVCs ProDV. JVC in the UK never did understand my gripe.

    that’s what I do Marionza.

I have an FCS project template which I duplicate for each project. One of the folders in it I call FCP files and set that for the scratch.

    Works well for me

A lot of us PC heads use the drag – right click to select for either copy or move.

Send a typical frame to Motion then typset and just slide up and down the font selector. The font changes fast as you slide and previews beautifully.

Trouble is zbr most of them don’t seem to work with full functionality on the Mac.

I’ll certainly look at the mighty mouse but that’s different again. What I was hoping for was someone saying something like ‘they have no trouble with the little Microsoft one’ or suchlike.

I’m very dissapointed with Logitech a being mainly a pc guy, like thier kit very much and sorry they havn’t implemented full Mac drivers.

Yes but then FCP takes an AGE to open as it has to check all 10,000 frames of the bitmap sequences. FCP is the only NLE I know that won’t import frame sequences.

The workaround is to use QTpro to convert to a QTmov – thereby doubling your disk usage.

I’ve got no suggestions about relevant software, but I should have thought you’d be better off trying to engineer the slideshow dispaying a much higher resolution of your slides, rather than reducing the resloution of each to 720×576(pal SD DVD).

There must be a better way of presenting your best hires pix direct off the laptop.

Depending on what format you’re working on, you may be able to get hold of a cheap copy of Commotion Pro4. I still use this app for what roto I do.

It still runs on the latest intel MPB (just installed it yesterday) although unfortuneately it only uses one core.

Lovley programme for roto and a great motion tracker.
