  • This happened to me on the same machine. It turned out to be a known graphics card fault and an Apple store diagnosed it and replaced the motherboard. The graphics card is on the motherboard on these machines.

My machine was well out of warrenty but as it was a known problem the repair was undertaken free of charge.

    Good luck

Well said Micheal, ‘workaround Pro’ That’s just how I think of it. Don’t get me wrong there’s an awful lot I’ve learn’t to love about FCP since being forced to jump ship from my beloved Liquid Silver.

    Just some gaping holes.

Or almost anything else bar FCP (iMovie and Windows MovieMaker – and I’m not ever sure about that!)

Thanks Kevin I’ll give it a go.

Thanks also for your input Dave. I have AE and of course Motion but for such a simple thing either would be overkill. I don’t think I’m asking the earth for a pro application like FCP to provide something as basic as copy/paste keyframes!

Thanks kevin, I saw this posting of yours when I searched previously. Don’t think the method helps much though.

Say I just want to dupicate a position and scale keyframe further up the timeline to pause a motion how would I go about doing that using your method?

    Thanks for your patience

    I’ve experienced this on c4d R11.5 (64bit) a Dell M6400 running under Vista64.

Despite changing video drivers it still persists so use software screen drive mode now.

Tell us what you did Paul. I have a D7 and D3s but haven’t done any timelapse with them (yet!)

Yes I learnt that one as well Ben. I rarely put a motion project on an FCP TL.

Ben, you obviously have both AE and Motion like me. Which would you choose to use for something like this and why?

Personally I prefer AE but often go to Motion for quick and nasty!

    Yes but sometimes impractiable!

I used to do this with animation sequences exported as numbered bitmap sequences, but every frame appears individually on the TL and more importantly it takes FCP forever to open as it checks whether every frame is online before opening!! Hopeless for animations of hundreds/thousands of frames

OK that was v4.5 but I assume the later versions do the same.
