Hi,

Yes, the 10-bit hardware-based down-converter can be applied to any or all outputs, digital or analog, via the KONA Control Panel. The down-converter can be “always-on”, and can also be applied during the digitizing process to bring in HD footage to SD files. And, the down-converter can be used in “input passthrough” stand-alone mode, to send HD video in and SD out of the system without digitzing at all.

“KONA” refers to our Mac-based line of PCI and PCIe products, designed for Final Cut Pro and other OSX applications. “XENA” refers to our Windows-based products, designed for use with professioanl motion graphics applications. So, a big difference there 😉

Currently there is no KONA 3 equivalent on the XENA side of things.

Currently there are no plans to support PP2.0 on the LH card. As a rule, we try to only discuss what is ready for release, so there are no delayed expectations riding on potential vaporware 🙂

The XENA HS does not support Cineon, DPX, or other filer-per-frame formats, as does the LH and LHe.

It soiunds like you got the KLBOX, without the “-LH”, which includes cabling for the KONA LS. Perhaps check with your reseller, or give us a call and we can help you out.
