It is unclear from your link which driver package you are recommending. Perhaps you can steer Gregg to which driver supports his card.

Gregg, please be aware that AJA cannot extend support to you if you use the BM driver, as it is an unapproved configuration. AJA can only supprt KONA SD cards which use the original KONA SD driver.

While AJA cannot provide you with the drivers that were supplied with your card rginally (the original developer ceased support for them), please contact us and perhaps there is an easy upgrade to a newer generation of KONA card, with AJA built and supported drivers.

Hi,

You can also bypass the Miranda altogether, and simply take the analog HD outs of your HDV camera/deck directly into the HD analog ins of the KONA LH, and digitze to DVCPRO-HD. A whitepaper on this can be found here:

XENA HS is a dual rate SD and HD card, that has Native support in Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0. This means that for any uncompressed SD or HD video I/O, the HS support is integrated directly within PP2.0, without the need for additional software setups, etc. This native support was co-developed by Adobe and AJA.

Cineform’s ProspectHD also works on the XENA HS card, for use of their very efficient and clean compressed HD codec, to achieve more RT and lower disk usage while still getting on-line quality HD video. Cineform has also recently qualified the XENA LH card for use with Prospect HD.

Hi,

The 10-bit hardware-based down-converter on the KONA LHe (and the KONA 3) are available on the ingest side, during digitizing, and on output. It can also be used in “E-to-E” Input Passthrough mode, whereas you don’t need to digitize at all, but rather simply pass a signal through the card.

The down-converter will not work file-to-file within the system…that would be a software feature.

The XENA LH with the upcoming v2 software release will support DV25 playback, as well as HDV playback, within Premiere Pro 2.0.

This is in addition to uncompressed AVI, QuickTime, DPX, Cineon, TGA, TIFF, and BMP file format support…all natively within Premiere (and other apps) weith no need to render…even mix and match!

At NAB, we were showing a PP2.0 timeline comprised of a combination of 10-bit RGB DPX files, 10- and 8- bit uncompressed QuickTime, AVI, and even native HDV…all playing back with no rendering! With realtime color effects…it is very cool, and very unique.
