The temp files folder you can find by going to Options -> Preferences -> General and at the bottom you’ll see Temporary Files Folder path. You can delete everything in the version folder or move it to another folder if you want to be safer.

Glad to hear that it helped, but if you want to avoid this extra step the only two options that I see are
a) Change recording settings for dashcam – maybe there are options to change format.
b) Upgrade to a later version of Vegas Pro (20 or 19), which might support your files natively. As mentioned previously – you can test with the free trial.

H.265 is the video codec. Compared to the more common H.264 it’s more efficient in space, compression, quality, but requires more processing power.

H.265 does have some complications with Vegas, especially older versions where I believe it’s straight up not supported. Personally haven’t encountered any issues on latest version.

This isn’t too far off, but the main thing that this lacks is continuity between the axis. As in it’s pretty clear that it’s not a continuous dashed border.

Could be improved with extra masking, but would be hard to get the timings and spacing right for all the corners to transform smoothly (where a vertical dash “transforms” into a horizontal one).

I haven’t rendered as .MOV in Vegas for a good while, but I believe you have to apply Levels with the Computer RGB to Studio RGB preset to the whole project.

To add an effect to the whole project click on the fx icon left of the video preview quality selection (top left of Video Preview tab).

I was able to replicate the error by installing the script from the wrong folder. I believe you used the .dll files from the “Sony” folder, but you should’ve gone with the “Magix” folder contents. Wouldn’t that be slipping the clips? So if you hold Alt and click and drag a clip to the right in your case – that would move the footage forward, but maintain the same position in timeline. Then the original beginning would be x frames into the clip and the original end would be x frames out of the clip, so cut off.
