Video Preview & other windows disappearing in VP 20
Hi, I’m using Vegas Pro 20 on my laptop since Feb. 2023. Over the last few months I’m finding that the video preview window as well as the transitions, generated media and other relevant windows keep disappearing and I have had to manually open and attach them. Any idea why this is happening and how to stop it? I’m thinking of uninstalling/reinstalling the program but I don’t want to lose any presets I have added. Thanks for any suggestions!

Re-installing could be a potential fix here, but I don’t think it actually fixes such problems that often. I more often see “I already tried reinstalling – didn’t help” than it having helped.
However, if you decide to proceed and you’re worried about your presets/preferences – you can export preferences by going to Options -> Export Preferences, then Options -> Import Preferences when re-installed.
As for presets – those you can find in Documents -> OFX Presets folder. I don’t think these will get removed, but you can back up the whole folder to be safe. If you have 3rd party plugins – those might have to be reinstalled.What I think is likely happening is you’re hitting the keybinds for those windows to disappear.
They’re Alt + 1, Alt + 2, Alt + 3 … and so on. You could remove those keybinds in Options -> Customize Keyboard -
