It’s been a long while since I installed, but I think it installs itself when you install. Check your pIllusion folder to see if it’s already in there.
If you’re on windows, it should be in the same start menue folder as the pIllusion shortcut.
Not sure about mac.
Truth is – not sure about any of this… Been soooooooo long.

I usually make sound FX myself by recording my voice into a mic, and then using audio effects to make it sound really cool. If you go to this adress (and give it a second to load) it was done entirely by my voice:

you have to be careful about going to any free Sound FX sites, BTW – many of them are just holiding places to add spyware to your computer by just visiting them. Any non-name Free site can be like that, so beware…

what application are you going to?
Some apps need to be told there is an alpha (Sometimes AE misses it)

This is on my list for a video tutorial. Actually it’s TV off, but it would work the exact same way.
Mostly, i’d
precomp my video
scale it down to 0 on the x and maybe 5% on the Y, and then animate if first scale up to 100 on the X, then 100 on the y
Use the effects called tint to tint the entire thing white, then fade out the tint as it scales up
use a lens flare perfectly centered for the flash

In your case, since you only need to make still images look tooned, check out live trace in adobe illustrator CS2.
I also have a tutorial with a cartoonification technique that utilizes live trace, but it’s fairly complex. It requires both Illustrator CS2 and After Effects. It’s a 3-part video tutorial that you can find here:

yes. To my knowledge, the number of layers is unlimited – Obvioulsy there will be performance lag if all 500 are shown at the same time.
If you want to verify it, you can do what I just did and duplicate a solid 500 times. I just duplicated a few, and then duplicated all the duplicates – it took about 20 seconds to generate 500 layers. No errors or warnings.
