You got me there. I have to admit that I haven’t looked at the exporter in years. The reason for that is that you have very limited control over your export.
Good to know though. Always happy to learn more. Thanks!
Still, I’ll never use it for one reason – Multi-pass renders take at least twice as long as a regular one (often longer). If you decide to alter the compression settings, then you have to go back and re-render again, even if the animation itself is flawless.
I talk about it in this video:
https://library.creativecow.net/articles/rabinowitz_aharon/ITKVS/Compression_Pt_1_Fixed.mov
It’s best to render uncompressed and then use a dedicated compression program. But, hey,in a fix, it’s there for you. BTW – If you have QuickTime Pro, you can render uncompressed and have exactly the same options for expo9rting in quicktime. In other words you can avoid the problem of slow rendering, while getting the same multi-pass option you’ll find in “export.”
However, if you can afford to buy a dedicated compression program, you should definitely consider it. You’ll have much better results.

You have to understand that there were changes made under the hood in AE when they updated to CS3. Because of that many plug-ins required updating for them to work properly.
Most plug-in companies have fixed their products and many have offered free updates. However – if you got them for free your probably out of luck. The whole point of giving away those plug-ins is to get you hooked into their product line. Why else would they give them away for free?
That said, shy people get nothing… You could always try either emailing the Meyers or the company that made the product and see what they have to say. You never know.

Hi folks-
To help keep effort to a minimum here – if you are trying to run pillusion on a 64-bit system, you must contact Wondertouch support for help setting that up. There is no other solution to getting it to run on 64-bit.

I don’t know nothin about XML, but I do know somethin about swappage…
OK here’s the deal –
In the time line, select the piece of footage you want to swap
In the project panel, select the footage you want to use as the replacement
Begin dragging it down onto the time line, and once you start doing that, hold down the Alt (or option) key.
Making sure you are over the time line (where the names of each footage item in the comp is listed), With the Alt key still held down, let go of the footage (let go of the mouse button)
You will see that your footage has been replaced.

it’s a total trash channel. They were UPN 9, and then UPN * and WB 11 became the CW 11, and this channel became My9: prime time soaps and other trash TV. I wouldn’t be surprised though if all networks running TOS were using the updated gfx though. Might be a paramount corporate thing where all of the original stuff is replaced so that you can only see the new stuff. Wouldn’t be the first time something like that happened.

I bet his web space provider got hacked. I;ve seen that happen before. Can’t believe anyone would want to target him specifically.
Although the animation mafia in Las Vegas is pretty dangerous…

You should consider compressing in a compression program. After Effects cannot do multi-pass compression which means it doesn’t analyze the video before compressing. As a result you get a lot of artifacts and bad video in general. Even compressing in Quicktime Pro will yield significantly better results, although your best bet are programs like Cleaner or Sorenson Squeeze.

You should not be upconverting durring compression. That will probably result in a major loss of quality.
Instead, so it before you compress. you might want to take a look at RedGiant Software’s instant HD which can up-res footage in your NLE. It costs $99 which may be within your budget.

Unzip and Put them in the emitter Libraries folder in the particleIllusion 3 folder… so on my PC it’s:
C:\Program Files\particleIllusion_3\Emitter Libraries

Something to consider is a video up-reser plug-in like Digital Anarchy’s Resizer or RedGiant’s Instant HD. These plug-ins which use algoryhtms to scale up your video would allow you to scale up with less loss. Nothing that I’ve come across is perfect, but these certainly help.
