AE Pro only (I think) – Non-Educational/academic package.
Check the AE CD. It’s a seperate installer -called “cycore effects.”

Check the AE help files for Importing paths from Illustrator – there is an “Important Note” (or something like that in small letters) which tells you what setting you;ll need to have activated in Illustrator to do this properly.
But yeah – AICB in your Files and Clipboard preferences (I think) is the key one.

This is a little outside my area, but try importing the footage, and playing with the Adjust > levels effect. You can lower the strength of the white in the overall color. Also, you can try using the image control > Tint Effect. You pick a color for white and black, and then how much tint strength it has.
I’m sure there are better ways to do this…

If you can avoid using an MP3 and try bringing in an uncompressed WAV that would work. I think you can even convert an MP3 into a wav externally, and it will be fine. It’s just that AE hates MP3’s.

Since this is a completely different subject, in the future, it’s best to start a new string here at the forum – Not becasue it’s a rule, but becasue it helps the AE leaders (I’m not one of them) see the new question and give you advice.
But the fast answer is – there are 2 good ways to do this that I can think of (and a whole bunch of bad ones).
1) Make the layer 3D (activate the layer’s 3D switch, that looks like a cube) and rotate it on it’s X-Axis.
If you want something else on the other side – you’ll need 2 seperate layers – Parent the second 3D layer to the first. Rotae the first layer 180 degrees – When the first layer gets to 90 (or is it -90) degrees (where you can’t see it because it’s perfectly flat), make the first layer disappear and the second layer appear. It will look like one continuous rotation.
2) You could also set up 2 layers back to back in 3D (one should be at Z position = 0.01, the other at Z position = -0.01), parent 1 to the other, and then rotate. This is probably a lot easier. You may have to add a little more to the Z position values (like 0.1 instead 0.01) for this to look right.
Like I said, there are other ways to do this, but that’s how i would do it.

This is a multi machine renderer called Muster: https://www.vvertex.com/
It can render Maya, Max, Lightwave, and AE, to name a few.
I’ve never used it, but the school that I teach at has it for their render farm.

Try the effect called “CC Star Burst.”
If you have a non eucational version of AE (not sure if it’s Pro Only) There is an extra installer on the AE CD for the Cycore Effects – it’s one of those.
