[Frank van Mourik] “I was wondering there are other ways to render out a AE file or is it only possible in AE it self? other programs that can do it?”

Nope. Only AE will render AEP files. Unlike with Autodesk/discreet* products, there isn’t an entire family of tools, so why bother?

Not sure if this is helpful or what you meant but,
if you want to render something, while you want to continue working in AE then look into “watch folders” and “collect files” in the manual.

You can render files in the watch folder with a render-only version of AE (it’s on the install-cd)
Check it out in the manual.
This is normally used with multiple computers over a network.

This is a multi machine renderer called Muster: https://www.vvertex.com/

It can render Maya, Max, Lightwave, and AE, to name a few.

I’ve never used it, but the school that I teach at has it for their render farm.
