Just set the emitter’s color settings to:

– Get Color from Layer
– Update Color from layer

here’s an example – just add your own picture behind it:

Yeah, there’s a little too much repetition, and the low poly animation kind of kills it.

I’m guessing that the low poly character stuff is something you did as a personal project and that is somewhat siginificant or “dear” to you. You have a lot of very strong stuff in there, so dont deteract from that becasue you can’t let go. There’s tons of older stuff I’ve removed from my reel, even though i really wanted it in there.

About half of my reel is experimental – a lot of it is more interesting than some of what i do regularly, and the only way to really try something completely new is on my own time.

The one warning that I can give you is it’s OK to do this as long as what you do looks good. Don’t fall too in love with your own ideas. The best thing you can do is find someone you trust and respect, and that you will forgive when they break your heart telling you that a piece of work you spent days on needs to be further developed or even scrapped altogether.

several web hosting services (mine included) are currently being hit with a Denial of Service attack, so it may be the reason you’re having so much trouble.

Make sure that you have the property selected, not just the effect.

If that doesn’t work, add a position keyframe to the property, and then select the keyframe, and then hit Paste. Try shutting down and restarting too, that may help. Also deleting you’re preferences.

Lot’s of little things cause this sort of issue to happen.

well, you can set the visibility property of the emitter to less than 100 to make it less visible. Or you could set the colors a bit darker in the emitter prioperties color dialog.

If you were doing thios with After Effects, I’d say make the stuff in the BG blurry to simulate distance, but pIllusion alone cannot do this.
