What’s your render output size? How many frames are you rendering?

Looks like a sturdy 3D system. The only thing that comes to mind is that you could save some money by going with an nVidia GTX 980Ti over the Titan. Hundreds cheaper and I don’t know that you’d notice any difference in terms of performance. Less power hungry, too, so you might save on your PSU as well.

I’m not familiar with AXYZ, but presumably you could use Xpresso and/or Constraint tags. In Xresso you can use point nodes to move points to other objects’ or points’ positions.

Go into the S&T post effect in render settings and change the Min crease angle to 20 or above.

It’s just a limitation of the program I’m afraid. Faster computer won’t help much. I think this has been improved quite a bit in R17.

Looks like the only way to do it is to generate geometry (Hair Object>Generate).

I think it would probably be pretty easy to write a Python or COFFEE script to automate the process for someone who’s familiar with coding. Unfortunately that’s not me.
There is an easy way to create simple scripts, however, which is good if you want to repeat multiple operations on a particular object. You just open the Script>Script Log and the Script>Script Manager windows. As you perform your actions they will appear in the Script Log. When you’re done, copy the text in the script log and paste it over the text in the Script Manager. Then you can save it as a Script from there.
